Calm Skin Program
Eczema that keeps coming back deserves a plan that looks deeper.
You moisturize, you avoid the triggers, you use the cream, and it settles for a while. Then the itch is back, often at night, and the cycle starts again. Chinese medicine sees eczema as more than a skin problem. It looks at the pattern behind the flare, such as heat, dampness, dryness or wind, and treats it from the inside with an herbal formula and from the outside with skin care made for that pattern.

How the Calm Skin Program works
1. Find your skin pattern
Before your first visit you complete a detailed intake about your skin, sleep, digestion, stress and what makes you flare. At your Initial Evaluation, Dr. Collins reviews your photos and history, looks at your tongue and matches your skin to one of seven eczema presentations, such as hot, red and weepy, dry and thickened, or flaring with stress.
2. Treat inside and out
You receive an herbal formula made for your presentation, adjusted for age and any medications. Your plan also includes external care for your skin type, such as herbal soaks, washes or topicals, plus cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) sessions in our Kyle clinic when they fit your plan.
3. Check in and adjust
Eczema changes week to week, so your formula does too. Month one includes weekly check-ins. Formal evaluations at 4, 8 and 16 weeks track itch, sleep and how much skin is affected. Short weekly lessons in your client portal, including a Chinese Medicine Basics series, explain what is happening and why.
Is the Calm Skin Program right for you?
It is a good fit if:
Eczema keeps returning for you or your child, even with good skin care.
Itch is affecting sleep, focus or mood.
You want an approach that looks at the whole person, not only the skin.
You are ready to take herbs daily and check in for four months.
It is not the right fit if:
You want a single quick fix.
Your skin shows signs of infection right now, such as fever, spreading redness, yellow crusting, pus or painful clustered blisters. Please see your medical provider first; we are glad to start once that is handled.
You plan to stop a prescribed medicine on your own. Please keep using it and talk with your prescriber about any changes.

Questions about the Calm Skin Program
Can children join?
Yes. Formulas and doses are adjusted for age and weight, and a parent or guardian joins every visit.
Can I keep using my prescription creams or medicines?
Yes. Tell us everything you use. Herbs work alongside your medical care, not in place of it, and any change to a prescription is a conversation with your prescriber.
How do I take the herbs?
Dr. Collins chooses a form that fits you or your child and shows you exactly how to take it at your first visit.
Do I have to live near Kyle?
No. Visits are by telehealth anywhere in Texas. CAP sessions are optional and in person.
What if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Tell us at booking. Formulas are chosen with pregnancy and breastfeeding in mind, and some herbs are avoided.
What if my skin is not improving?
We review your progress at every check-in and change your formula or care plan. If something needs medical attention, we will tell you and help you get it.
